Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the relationship between Alpine Guides Kashmir and every client who books, participates in, or inquires about any of our programs.
By booking any program you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
Bookings & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when Alpine Guides Kashmir receives a completed booking form and the required deposit. No booking is confirmed until both conditions are met and written confirmation has been issued.
The deposit required to confirm a booking is 30% of the total program cost. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the program departure date.
For bookings made within 30 days of the departure date, the full program cost is due at the time of booking.
Alpine Guides Kashmir reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion without obligation to provide a reason.
Cancellation by the Client
All cancellation requests must be made in writing to info@alpineguideskashmir.com. Cancellations are effective from the date the written request is received.

Alpine Guides Kashmir strongly recommends that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover at the time of booking.
Cancellation or Modification by Alpine Guides Kashmir
Alpine Guides Kashmir reserves the right to cancel or modify any program due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control — including severe weather, natural events, political instability, road closures, permit restrictions, or unsafe conditions as judged by the lead guide.
In the event of cancellation before the program departs, clients will be offered either a full refund or an alternative departure date at no additional cost.
In the event of a program being curtailed after departure, Alpine Guides Kashmir will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative or return the client safely. Refunds for unused portions are considered case-by-case and are not guaranteed.
Alpine Guides Kashmir is not liable for any additional costs incurred by the client — including travel, accommodation, or other independent arrangements.
The Lead Guide's Authority
The lead guide holds full and final authority over all decisions made in the field — including route selection, pace, campsite placement, summit attempts, turnaround decisions, and evacuation.
The client agrees to follow the instructions of the lead guide at all times. Failure to comply may result in removal from the program without a refund.
The decision to turn around or abandon a summit attempt is made solely by the lead guide and is not subject to client appeal in the field. No refund or compensation is offered for programs curtailed on safety grounds.
The lead guide's authority extends to the decision to deploy the buffer day on applicable programs.
Risk, Responsibility & Assumption of Risk
Mountain activities involve inherent risks that cannot be fully eliminated, including:
By booking any program with Alpine Guides Kashmir, the client acknowledges full awareness of these risks, voluntarily assumes all such risks, and accepts full personal responsibility for their participation. Alpine Guides Kashmir takes all reasonable professional precautions to manage risk but cannot guarantee the safety of any participant in a mountain environment and accepts no liability for injury, illness, death, loss, or damage arising from participation.
Client Responsibilities
Fitness & Health
You are responsible for ensuring you are physically fit for the program you have booked. Prepare according to the fitness guidance provided for each program.
Medical Disclosure
You must disclose all medical conditions, limitations, allergies, and medications on the booking form. Failure to disclose is at your own risk.
Honest Experience Representation
You must honestly represent your experience and fitness level. Misrepresentation that causes safety concerns may result in removal without refund.
Equipment
You are responsible for arriving with all personal equipment on the kit list provided. The Company provides all technical and group equipment as specified.
Insurance (Mandatory)
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory — covering the activity type, maximum altitude, emergency medical treatment, and helicopter evacuation. Proof required before departure.
Conduct
You agree to behave respectfully toward the guide, staff, participants, local communities, and the environment. Unsafe or disruptive conduct may result in removal without refund.
Photographs & Media
Alpine Guides Kashmir may photograph or film programs for marketing and promotional use. Clients who do not wish to appear must notify us in writing before the program departs.
Clients are welcome to photograph and film for personal use. Publication of images identifying Alpine Guides Kashmir programs, routes, or personnel in a commercial or editorial context requires prior written permission.
Environmental Responsibility
All clients are expected to follow Leave No Trace principles throughout every program — carrying out all waste, respecting wildlife, and treating the mountain environment with care.
Alpine Guides Kashmir takes environmental responsibility seriously. Our programs are operated with a commitment to minimising impact on the landscapes we work in. Clients are expected to share and support this commitment.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India.
Any dispute arising from a booking will first be addressed through direct communication between the client and the Company. Alpine Guides Kashmir is committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.
If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Changes to These Terms
Alpine Guides Kashmir reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available on the website. The Terms and Conditions in force at the time of booking confirmation apply to that booking.
